6ETTLER - RYAN INC. ,. <br /> WORK PLAN FOR SOIL BORING AND MONITORING <br /> WELL INSTALLATION <br /> at <br /> City of Ripon/Madsen Sunrise Dairy <br /> 239 South Stockton Street <br /> Ripon,California <br /> Report No.25-948223.2-1 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of the City of Ripon, Gettler-Ryan Inc. (GR), has prepared this Work Plan for the installation <br /> of a soil boring and groundwater monitoring well to further evaluate soil and groundwater conditions <br /> beneath the subject site. This scope of work is proposed in response to a letter from the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) dated October 25, 2010. This scope of work was further <br /> developed during the November 4, 2010 meeting between the City of Ripon,the SJCE14D and GR. <br /> The proposed scope of work includes: updating the site safety plan; obtaining the required well installation <br /> permit; installing one soil boring and one groundwater monitoring well; surveying wellhead elevations; <br /> developing and sampling the well; collecting and submitting soil and groundwater samples for chemical <br /> analysis; and preparing a report presenting the data and findings of the investigation. <br /> The scope of work proposed in this Work Plan is intended to comply with the State of California Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board's (RWQCB) Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary <br /> Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites,and SJCEHD guidelines. <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The subject site is a vacant lot located on the northwest corner of the intersection of South Stockton Street <br /> and 2nd Street in Ripon, California (Figure 1). The site was previously used as a dairy product <br /> distribution facility. One 12,000-gallon diesel underground storage tank(UST)was previously located in <br /> the northeast portion of the site. Pertinent site features are shown on Figure 2. <br /> Land use in the vicinity of the site includes residential housing, industrial and small businesses. The <br /> Stanislaus River is located approximately 4000 feet east of the subject site. The property to the south <br /> across 2nd Street was formerly a service station (Theimann's Service Station) and is currently occupied <br /> by an auto repair business.
