Sutter <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Enclosed are the analytical results for the soil samples collected from under the excavated <br /> tanks and sump at 134 S.Sutter Street, Stockton, California (see Plate 1, Site Location <br /> Map). A total of three soil samples were collected and submitted for analysis on two <br /> separate sampling events. On October 6, 1988, two soil samples were collected from under <br /> two removed underground storage tanks (one sample below each tank). The third soil <br /> sample was collected on October 11, 1988 from the soil below an abandoned waste oil- <br /> water separator sump. The purpose of the sol same in was to assess the possible presence <br /> of hydrocarbon contamination in the soils below the removed underground tanks and the <br /> waste oil-water sump. <br /> Sampling Event 1 Underaground Tanks <br /> On October 6, 1988, a KJeinfelder field geologist collected two soil samples from under two <br /> removed 1,000-gallon underground storage tanks. These tanks were uncovered during <br /> excavation associated with construction and the original contents are not known. A <br /> representative of San Joaquin Local Health District (SJLHD), Diane Hinson, was Present <br /> while work was performed. The first sample is identified as Ioeinfelder Sample #18691. <br /> This sample was collected under the west end of the northern tank, (SJL D) tank #39- <br /> 2338-01.. The second sample (Sample #18692) was collected from below the southern <br /> tank (SJLHD tank #39-2338-02). The approximate tank and sample locations are shown <br /> on Plate 2, Sample Location Map. <br /> The samples were delivered under chain-of-custody control to Chemwest Analytical <br /> Laboratories, Inc. in Sacramento, California (Chemwest). The samples were analyzed for: <br /> Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) extractable by GC-FID; benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020; ethylene dibromide (EDB) <br /> extractable by EPA Method 504; and total organic lead by Department of Health Services <br /> (DHS) approved methodology. <br /> KLEINFELDER 9795 Business Park Drive. suite C.
