This firm is currently mitigating the problem on the adjacent property and
have done a through study of this entire area; consequently, they can more effectively
deal with this matter.
In response to the comments in your March 22, 2002 letter, our report was based on the
specific work plan presented in your February 2, 2001 letter; see Attachment 1. As stated
in this work plan we obtained soil.in the shallow groundwater zone and water samples at
depth in Probe "H" to test for the presence of residual hydrocarbons.
Soil samples were previously logged and analyzed from Probes "A" and "B" (see
Attachment 2) that are directly adjacent to Probes "I" and "J". These two probes on
January 31, 2002, were only to obtain groundwater samples for analysis from the deeper
portions of the aquifer.
The on-site vertical and horizontal extent of residual hydrocarbons in the soil and
groundwater was presented in our report, based on our probe and monitoring well data, as
shown on Attachment 3.
