Present at
the meeting were John McAssey, of Vironex, Inc., and Margaret Lagorio and Lori Duncan
of SJC/EHD. Mr. O'Rourke did not attend the meeting.
San Joaquin County ordinances and standards that concern drilling and subsurface
investigations were discussed at the meeting. Mr. McAssey was made aware of the
requirements of these ordinances and standards, and the fact that SJC/EHD well permits
are issued to the contracted C-57 license holder who is actually performing the work. It
was discussed that ultimately the responsibility that proper permits are obtained falls on
the C-57 license holder the permit is issued to.
Pursuant to San Joaquin County Resolution 90-572, the permit fees were doubled for the
subject work. The required fees have been received by SJC/EHD and permits #28930
and 28931 were issued on February 19, 2002. It was agreed that in the future Vironex,
Inc. would verify with SJC/EHD that the proper permits have been obtained before they
perform work in San Joaquin County. If a violation of this nature occurs again, referral of
Vironex, Inc. to the San Joaquin County District Attorneys' office for enforcement action
may result.
If you have any questions or comments, please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Ylflil.
