1 <br />' Sutter Office Center Project 2267-E <br /> February 18, 2002 Page 4 <br /> I <br /> Soil and groundwater samples were obtained in accordance under the LUFT requirements <br /> of California Water Resources Control Boaid The water samples weie placed to <br /> laboratoiy provided containers and delivered to the testing laboratory in an ice chest Soil <br />' samples were encapsulated in plastic tubes, with the ends sealed, and placed on ice toi <br /> delivery to the Vironex testing laboratory, which is ceitified by the State of California <br /> A summary of the soil and groundwater analysis is presented on Plates 3a and 3b, <br /> Summary Analysis of Soil and Gioundwater Probe Data The certified analytical reports <br />' and chain-of-custody records for the January 31, 2002 probes are presented in <br /> Appendix B <br /> MONITORING WELLS <br /> Thiee monitoring wells were installed on the subject pioperty, at the locations shown oil <br /> Plate 2, in the area where the probes encountered high residual hydrocarbon levels The <br /> I monitoring wells were drilled on August 2, 2001 with hollow-stem auger equipment, <br /> which was steam cleaned before drilling each well, by West Hazmat Drilling <br /> Corporation The wells were constructed as shown on Plate 4 and screened between 20 <br /> and 40 feet below the ground surface to evaluate the shallow groundwater that is <br /> encountered at a depth of appioximately 26 feet These monitoring wells were developed <br /> by pumping and surging by West Hazmat Di tiling Corporation on August 15, 2001 Drill <br /> cuttings and water was stoied in 55 gallon drums for disposal at a certified hazardous <br /> waste site by Morgan Environmental Services The ground surface elevations of the of the <br /> I monitoring wells were suiveyed using the top of the existing metal cover on Monitoring <br /> Well U-7 as a benchmatk elevation of 11 75 feet above mean sea level <br /> Groundwater samples were collected fiom the monitoiing wells, after purging 4 well <br /> volumes, on September 10, 2001 and January 31, 2002 using a pre-cleaned teflon bailer <br /> The groundwater from each well was placed in six 40-milliliter bottles and one I-liter <br /> amber bottle, provided by the testing laboratory, the samples were labeled and transported <br /> . 5 to Sequoia Analytical Laboratoiy on the day collected in a cooler with blue-ice <br /> HYDRO-GEO CONSULTANTS INC <br />
