Date. September 23,2003
Quarter, 3`d Quarter,2003
DISCUSSION:
TPHg, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX), and methyl tert-butyl ether (MtBE) were reported
above method detection limits in groundwater samples collected from site wells during this quarter TPHg and
BTEX concentrations in MW-2 increased relative to previous quarters Concentrations of TPHg in MW-6 increased
relative to the previous quarterly monitoring event The TPHg concentration in MW-4 decreased to the lowest level
reported since March of 1988 Benzene was reported above method detection limits for the first time in AMW-6
since January of 1995 Ethanol and the fuel oxygenates tert-butyl alcohol (TBA), tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME),
dm-isopropyl ether (DiPE), and ethyl tert-Butyl ether (ELBE) were added to the analyte list for groundwater samples
collected from site wells this quarter Ethanol, TAME, DiPE, and EtBE were not reported above method detection
limits in any groundwater samples collected from the site this quarter However,TBA was reported in MW-3 at 210
micrograms per liter (pg/L) MW-3 has a history of TBA being reported above method detection limits but not at
this concentration Otherwise, reported concentrations were generally consistent with historic data reported from
previous sampling events
Groundwater elevations in the site monitoring wells generally decreased relative to the previous monitoring event
The inferred direction of groundwater flow was to the north to northwest at an average gradient of 0 006 feet/foot
(ft/ft) A regional groundwater elevation contour map and a regional groundwater analytical summary were created
with data from the former Chevron service station at 575 Grant Line Road and the former Scotty's service station at
574 Grant Line Road
This report is based on data, site conditions, and other information that are generally applicable as of the date of the
report, and the conclusions and recommendations herein are therefore applicable only to that time frame
• TABLES
Table 1 Groundwater Monitoring and Analytical Data
Table 2 Fuel Oxygenates Analytical Data
Table 3 Groundwater Gradient Data
FIGURES
Figure 1 Groundwater Elevation Contours
Figure 2 Groundwater Analytical Summary
Figure 3 Concentration and Water Level Trends (Well MW-2)
APPENDICES
Appendix A Field Data Sheets
Appendix B Sampling and Analysis Procedures
Appendix C Laboratory Analytical Reports and Chain-of-Custody Records
Appendix D Former Chevron and Former Scotty's Groundwater Monitoring Data
Appendix E GeoTracker Upload Confirmation
K 1Wprocem'M BP ARC0U11941Quaneriy',7 QTR 03511194 GWMR 3Q03 doc Page 2
