CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD <br /> CENTRAL VALLEY REGION <br /> ORDER NO. <br /> WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS <br /> SEBASTIANI VINEYARDS <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> The California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region, (hereafter �j <br /> Board) finds that: u <br /> 1. Sebastiani Vineyards (hereafter Discharger) submitted a Report of Waste Discharge, <br /> dated 2 Novmber 1989. The property (Assessor's Parcel No(s) 025-120-05 and 025- <br /> 120-01) is owned by the Discharger. <br /> 2. Waste Discharge Requirements Order No. 58-551, adopted by the Board on 21 <br /> November 1958, prescribes requirements for a discharge of cooling water, wash <br /> water, and stillage wastes from Sebastiani Vineyards to land. <br /> 3. Order No. 58-551 is neither adequate nor consistent with current plans and policies of <br /> the Board. <br /> 4. The Discharger discharges an average of 90,000 gallons per day (gpd) of cooling <br /> water, wash water, and stillage wastes to 62 acres of checks for evaporation and <br /> percolation. Maximum discharge occurs August through October. <br /> 5. The Report of Waste Discharge describes the discharge as follows: <br /> Average Flow: 90,000 gpd <br /> Maximum Flow: 100,000 gpd II <br /> u <br /> 6. The facility is in Section 1, T3N. RSE, MDB&M, with surface water drainage to <br /> Sycamore Slough, tributary to South Fork Mokelumne River, as shown in Attachment <br /> A, which is attached hereto and part of the Order by reference. <br /> 7. The Board adopted a Water Quality Control Plan, Second Edition, for the Sacramen- <br /> to-San Joaquin River Basin (513), which contains water quality objectives for all <br /> waters of the Basin. These requirements implement the Basin Plan. <br /> 8. The beneficial uses of South Fork River and its tributaries are municipal, industrial, <br /> and agricultural supply; recreation; esthetic enjoyment; navigation; ground water <br /> recharge: fresh water replenishment; hydropower generation: and preservation and <br /> enhancement of fish, wildlife, and other aquatic resources. <br />
