i •
INFORMATION SHEET
SEBASTIANI VINEYARDS
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
Sebastiani Vineyards is located at 4814 West Turner Road in Lodi. The area surrounding the
facility is mainly agricultural. The facility is in Section 1, T3N, MDB&M, with surface
water drainage to Sycamore Slough, tributary to South Fork River.
The wastewater, averaging 90,000 gallons per day (gpd), is discharged to 62 acres of
agricultural checks, approximately 1.75 acres each. Maximum discharge, 100,000 . d,
occurs August through October. Tne operations produce varying amounts of industrial waste
resulting from the processing of some 25,000 tons of grapes annually. The wastewater
includes cooling water, wash water, treated groundwater, and small amount of stillage
wastes. The plant does not discharge any chemicals to the checks. Odors are not a problem
due to the low concentration of constituents in the discharge.
The checks are monitored three times per week and maintained by a contracted farmer. The
farmer maintains the berm, discs the soil and controls the weed. While past and present
operation at Sebastiani Vineyards have not altered considerably since establishment, Order
No. 58-551 is not current with the Board's policy.
