(AGE) discussed by telephone the placement for the screened interval for
-referenced site. hi Additional Site Assessment Work Plan—
proposed deep well (MW9) at the above
Monitoring Well Installation dated May 21, 2007, AGE had proposed placing the well's screen
between 110 and 120 feet below surface grade (bsg). By letter dated July 5, 2007, EHD had
recommended the well's screen be placed between 80 and 90 feet bsg based on soil lithology
generated during the installation of monitoring well MW-13 on the adjacent property at 1607
Turnpike Road. AGE explained that heaving sand had been encountered during the installation for
MW-13 and the lithology generated for this well could not be considered reliable information.
Therefore, EHD approves AGE's proposed screened interval between 110 and 120 feet bsg for
MW-9.
Please provide clarification for the screen intervals (55 to 65 feet bsg or 60 to 65 feet bsg) for
proposed wells MW-10 and MW-11, and indicate whether MW-11 will be installed approximately
twenty-five feet south/southeast of existing well MW-6 as shown on Figure 2 of the work plan.
Please respond to EHD's comments presented in this letter by August 23, 2007. If you have any
questions, please contact Vicki McCartney at (209) 468-9852 or by electronic mail at
vmccar-tney@sjcehd.com.
Donna Heran, REHS,Director
Environmental Health Department
vrl&k Nuel C.
