(AGE)on your behalf. Results for soil samples collected from the installation of monitoring well
MW-8 as well as results for groundwater samples collected from MW-8 and reported in Quarterly
Report — Fourth Quarter 2006 dated February 2, 2007, indicate that soil and groundwater are
contaminated at depths of sixty-five feet below surface grade (bsg) at the location of the former
underground storage tank. Based on these results, AGE recommends additional investigation to
define the vertical extent of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon contamination at the source area and to
determine the possible existence of a commingling plume with the adjacent property located at 1607
Turnpike Road, Stockton, California. AGE also recommends omitting the analysis for diesel during
the quarterly groundwater monitoring events.
EHD concurs with the recommendations presented by AGE. Please submit a work plan to EHD by
June 5, 2007, that will delineate the vertical extent of groundwater contamination at the source area
and assess the existence of a commingling plume with the property directly south of this site. Provide
technical justification to support all proposed fieldwork. EHD also agrees that the analysis for diesel
may be omitted from the analytical list for groundwater samples collected quarterly since diesel has
not been detected in any soil or groundwater samples collected at this site.
If you have any questions, please contact Vicki McCartney at(209)468-3456 or by electronic mail at
vinccartney@sjcehd.com.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Department Q.,v""r'v 7/•'['
G i!
Victona L.
