06 August 2003 AGE-NC Project No. 03-1045 Page 4 of 6 laboratory for one or more the following constituents: • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in accordance with EPA Method 5030/8015M; • Volatile organic compounds,including benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenes(BTE3Q, and the fuel additives tertiary butanol(TBA),di-isopropyl ether(RIPE),ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE), tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME), methyl tertiary- butyl ether (MTBE), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B; and • Total oil and grease(TOG) in accordance with EPA Methods 5520 or 418.1. Laboratory reports for soil analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with findings and recommendations. 3.3. GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS Grab ground water samples will be collected from each boring during the boring process using a Geoprobe water sampling assembly. Samples will be collected into 40-m1 volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials with 0.5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative and 1-liter amber bottles as appropriate for the required analyses; ground water sample collection procedures are presented in Section 4.1. Selected ground water samples will be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for: • TPH-g and TPH-d by EPA Method 8015 Modified; and • VOCs by EPA Method 8260 3.4. REPORT PREPARATION Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will be prepared presenting the findings of the investigation. The report will include a description of the work performed and results of the sampling and analysis.Conclusions,applicable recommendations,and maps will be included in the report.
