Site Background Information: Lopez Property
Page 3 of 3
On 27 and 28 November 2006, five additional ground water monitoring wells (MW-4 through
MW-8) were installed at the site. No constituents of concern were detected in the soil samples
collected from pilot borings MW4 through MW7. Petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil was
observed from a depth of 40 feet to the total depth of boring MW8,at a depth of 65 feet bsg. TPH-g
and BTEX compounds were detected in all the soil samples from pilot boring MW8 at maximum
concentrations of 1,400 mg/kg TPH-g, 14 mg/kg benzene,53 mg/kg toluene, 17 mg/kg ethylbenzene,
and 92 mg/kg xylenes in sample MW8-50. The fuel additives MTBE,ETBE,TAME and 1,2-DCA
were detected in one or more samples from boring MW8 at maximum concentrations of 0.070 mg/kg
(MW8-50 and MW8-60),0.075 mg/kg(MW8-60), 0.10 mg/kg(MW8-50 and MW8-60),and 0.47
mg/kg(MW8-60),respectively.
On 13 through 15 August 2007, three additional ground water monitoring wells (MW-9 through
MW-11) were installed at the site. Pilot boring MW9 was completed with slotted screen installed
from approximately 110 to 120 feet bsg; pilot boring MW10 was completed with slotted screen
installed from approximately 50 to 60 feet bsg;MW l l was completed with slotted screen installed
from approximately 55 to 65 feet bsg.Two of the eleven soil samples analyzed contained detectable
amounts of constituents of concern. BTEX compounds were detected in sample MW9-90 at
concentrations of 0.024 mg/kg benzene,0.028 mg/kg toluene,0.018 mg/kg ethylbenzene,and 0.032
mg/kg xylenes. TPH-g, BTEX compounds and the fuel-additive TAME were detected in sample
MW 10-50 at concentrations of 1.2 mg/kg TPH-g, 0.14 mg/kg benzene,0.080 mg/kg toluene,0.021
mg/kg ethylbenzene, 0.093 mg/kg xylenes, and 0.040 mg/kg TAME.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
