' 20 January 2005
• AGE-NC Project No 04-1045
' 4.0 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes
' • Generally, orange brown to light brawn, moist, clayey silt to silty claywas encountered from
surface grade to approximately 25 feet bsg Brown to gray, moist sandy silts and sands were
' encountered from approximately 25 feet bsg to 35 feet bsg
• TPH-g and BTEX compounds were detected only in the soil samples collected from boring
MW 1, the maximum concentrations were detected in sample MW 1-20 The lateral extent of
' soil contamination has not been defined north and east of the former tank pit
• TPH-g and BTEX compounds were detected in ground water samples collected from wells
' MW-1 through MW-3, at maximum concentrations of 78,000 µg/1 TPH-g, 4,900 µg/1
benzene, 18,000µg/1 toluene,3,900µg/1 ethylbenzene and 12,200µg/1 xylenes in the sample
from MW-1
• 1,2-DCA was detected in the ground water sample from MW-1 at a concentration of
420 µg/1
Petroleum hydrocarbon-impact to ground water is defined only to the south, in the area of
well MW-3
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends
• Initiation of a quarterly monitoring program, the next monitoring event will be performed
an February 2004
• Additional assessment to further define the vertical and lateral extent of soil and ground
Iwater contamination in the former UST area
6.0.
