Box 0388
Stockton, California 95201-0388
Subject: Request for Approval of Additional Soil Analyses for the Upcoming Field
Investigation at the 425 Union Street Site, Stockton. Site Code: 241434
Dear Ms. Meays:
In your-letter of July 2, 1996, you.gave conditional approval of our Revised Soil Gas
Investigation Workplan for the subject site, requesting that physical property and TCLP
analyses be performed on contaminated soil samples that.may be collected. Such data would
be'useful for fate and transport analysis that could be used in support of a site closure request.
If contaminated soil is encountered, -it is estimated that the additional analyses will add
approximately $1,650 to the project's estimated costs. This includes a maximum of nine soil
i samples for total organic carbon, analyses, a.maxim urn of 6 samples for the API RP-40
package (which includes air permeability., total porosity, fluid saturation, grain density, and
bulk density), and. a maximum of 2-samples for zero-headspace TCLP analysis for BTEX and
TPHg. The field work is scheduled for completion August 1-2, 1996.
Ir
Please send us written approval for these additional analyses (FAX transmittal would be
f appreciated; FAX: 916-852-3777). Please feel free to call with any questions you may have,
and thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely,
)- John M.
