Mail <br /> Dear Mr_ LAWSON: <br /> I have recently reviewed your request for a cast estimate pre-approval regarding; claim#003023 rD <br /> on the site cleanup to conduct remedial activities to mitigate contaminates in previously C_ <br /> excavated and remediated soils, with your letter dated January 5, 1996. Pre-approval has been <br /> denied. You may not receive reimbursement for the project costs as estimated_ It appears that t'--L <br /> you have remediated these soils twice now with OMNI ENTERPRISES services. Additionally r\' <br /> these soils appear to be "low risk". 7D <br /> Before we pre-approve costs associated with cleanup tasks,we are requesting written concurrence from local <br /> oversight agencies that cleanup activities are warranted. The Executive Director of the State Water <br /> Resources Control Board recently issued the enclosed letter recommending closure of some low-risk sites. <br /> Specifically,the letter recommends closing low-risk,soil"nly sites and monitoring(instead of actively <br /> remediating)low-risk ground water sites. <br /> The determination whether a size is low risk must be made in writing by your local cleanup oversight agency. <br /> Please contact your agency for this determination and for A written statement verifying that further cleanup <br /> wort:is necessary. If the agency determines that active remediation is warranted at your site,please submit a <br /> copy of the written statement along with your claim number. Your claim will then be reviewed for pre- <br /> approval of corrective action costs. <br /> I can provide assistance to you with cost estimate pre-approval and bid review for all future work <br /> at your site. My pre-approval/bid review will ensure your compliance with the Fund's three bid <br /> requirement and reasonable cost_ Please be sure to provide necessary documents requested on <br /> the enclosed USTCF cost pre-approval form and include your phone number(FAX if available), <br /> mailing address, site address and claim #003023 on all correspondence.
