advantage of reduced trucking costs. The estimated costs in Table 1 assume disposal at
the Forward facility.
i
Forward has specified analytical requirements for profiling a waste. The soil at
the site containing waste oil would require one 4-point composite sample be collected
and analyzed for semivolatile organic compounds (EPA Method 8270), halogenated
organic compounds (EPA Method 8010), the five TCL-P metals (cadmium, chromium,
lead, nickel, and zinc), and a 96-hour Acute Aquatic LC5 fish bioassay. It is assumed
that the results of these analyses will allow the material to be classified as a Class II
waste and that the waste is non-hazardous.
i
Once the waste has been profiled and accepted by the landfill, then a front-loader
will be mobilized to the site to load the affected soil into 18-cubic yard end-dump trucks.
It is assumed that six trucks will each deliver three loads of soil to the landfill in a single
day. Although the waste will not be a hazardous waste (unless analytical data from
i
profiling analyses indicates otherwise), an unofficial manifesting system will be used to
track the shipment and receiving of the wastes to the landfill.
i
I
4.4 REFERENCES
ICF Kaiser, "Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report and Results of Confirmation i
Sampling of Soils Excavated from 425 North Union Street and Stockpiled at 1320 West k
Weber Street.
