RECEIVrffrft5;I
D (EF) on 10/6/2020
• The Environmental Compliance Program is required by local, state and federal governments and violations
can result in fines to the company and/or employees.
• Products in the Environmental Compliance Program categories (i.e. hazardous waste) may NOT be
disposed of in the regular trash dumpster or poured down the drain or toilet.
• All Associates must be trained to identify hazardous waste and the proper handling of these products in
the "Damages" area. Hazardous waste must be bagged in a re-sealable bag (with absorbent if leaking)
prior to being placed in the "Damages" area.
• All saleable damaged products in the Environmental Compliance Program categories should be placed on
the Markdown Cart and/or retained for use in the store, if applicable, prior to being selected for disposal.
• All un-saleable damaged products in the Environmental Compliance Program categories must be logged
on the Retail Waste Inventory Log when they are placed in the designated tote for disposal. (SM/Key
Carrier)
• The Waste Storage Area Weekly Inspection Checklist must be completed weekly (on Truck Day). When
completing the Inspection Checklist, verify that all damages have been properly declared as waste per
Dollar General SOP guidelines and are bagged, categorized and logged properly. (SM)
• The Waste Manifests should be retained in the Environmental Compliance Program Training and
Compliance Binder for three years.
• Do not store any products on the Environmental Compliance Program's shelving unit or any rolltainers,
mops, brooms, etc. within 3 feet of the sides and front of the shelving unit.
• Always wear Nitrile gloves when cleaning up spills or handling damaged products in the Environmental
Compliance Program categories. Dispose of gloves and any clean up materials from spills in the re-sealable
bag with the damaged product.
• All supplies may be re-ordered through the Store Supply Center on STOREnet.
DOLLAR GENERAL
