Florido, Elianna
From: Florido, Elianna
Sent: Thursday, March 26, 2020 2:38 PM
To: Darryl Dinson
Subject: Re: Smart & Final #393 - 2019 Hazardous Waste Inspection
Good Afternoon Darryl,
I hope this email finds you well. Please forgive my delay in responding to your emails regarding the
several Smart & Final hazardous waste inspections. I will respond to each of your emails separately.
Thank you for providing the compliance documentation for Smart & Final #393. All of the violations for this
store are now closed. However, with regard to Smart & Finals' new hazardous waste labels, which are to be
generated by the hazardous waste transporter, the "contents/composition" written as either Toxic,
Flammable, Corrosive Acidic, or Corrosive Basic, states the hazardous property of the waste, and not the
composition (or chemical name) of the waste. On the other hand, the labels I observed at the time of
inspection included a list of contents for employee's to check off once the waste was placed into a storage
container, which meets the hazardous waste labeling requirement for composition (contents). Please ensure
that the hazardous waste containers are labeled with an accurate composition (contents) of the waste.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Elianna Florido, REHS
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
Registered Environmental Health Specialist
1868 East Hazelton Ave
Stockton, CA 95205
P: (209) 468-0343 1 F: (209) 468-3433 1 E: eflorido@sigov.org
Please note that my email has changed to efIoridoCa@s*gov.org
From: Darryl Dinson <Darryl.Dinson@smartandfinal.com>
Sent:Wednesday, December 4, 2019 10:01:44 AM
To: Florido, Elianna
Subject: Re: Smart& Final#393 -2019 Hazardous Waste Inspection
