' Union Ice Company
425 North Union Street, Stockton, California
Quarterly Groundwater Report(December, 1993)
1
Narrative
' On December 30, 1993, WHF, Inc , in conjunction with F KM, Inc, conducted field measurements, well pumping
and groundwater sampling on four groundwater monitoring wells located at this site(Figure 2)
Groundwater elevations were taken prior to pumping (Table 2), and at least three well volumes were evacuated
from each well using a steam-cleaned, stainless steel bladdem3pe pump, during which time samples were collected
to measure the field pH, electrical conductivity and temperature (Table 3) The samples were collected, labeled
and chilled in an ice chest with Blue Ice® after stability was achieved and a minimum of 3 well volumes were
' removed The samples were then logged on a Chain of Custody form and transported to Geo Monitor, Inc , a State
certified laboratory located in Hesperia, California The analysis requested for the water samples were EPA
method 602 for BTX&E compounds and EPA method GCFID 3550/8015 for Diesel The analytical results are
' listed in Table 1 of this report
Groundwater elevations(Table 2)were used from these four monitoring wells to construct a groundwater gradient
map (Figure 2) The gradient has not changed significantly (N69°E at 0 0021 ft/ft) since the October 1993
sampling event(N600E at 0 0025 fl/ft) Since the last quarter, the water table has dropped 2 0 feet across the site
MW-3&4 analyzed Non-Detect for all tested compounds MW-1 had 0 5 ugfL Toluene and 0 7 pg/L Xylenes
MW-2 had 1 9,ug/L Toluene,0 7 pg/L Xylenes and 0 10 mg/l Diesel Last quarter all wells were Non-Detect
The above represents our best professional opinion as to environmental conditions at this site These opinions were
derived using data at hand, and standards of care common to the environmental consulting community in Northern
' California Additional work or sampling at this site may generate data that could lead to a change of opinion
regarding site conditions or appropriate site remediation procedures, or both
Prepared by
t•"' 4613 9
' AIPG
' uis Smith, CPG
Certified Professio logist#4613 t p
Qp,4EC:
NOQ
CD 223391x0o
eLano,P E #42339
EXP 9349'7 ZZD
"
California Registered Civil Engineer cf'J, CML
Or
CA1-Q
