ALTH <br /> Consulting Scientists,Engineers,"8644 LS <br /> August 1, 2005 <br /> Mr. Duncan Austin Via Hand Delivery <br /> Private Sites Cleanup Unit <br /> California Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> Central Valley Region <br /> 11020 Sun Center Drive#200 <br /> Rancho Cordova, California 95670 16014.01 <br /> Subject: Semi-Annual Ground Water Monitoring Report First Half 2005 <br /> Former Georgia-Pacific Corporation Chemical Packaging Facility <br /> 75 West Valpico Road, Tracy, California <br /> Dear Mr. Austin: <br /> Enclosed is the Semi-Annual Ground Water Monitoring Report First Half 2005, summarizing <br /> results of the monitoring event conducted March 15-16, 2005, at the former Georgia-Pacific <br /> Corporation Chemical Packaging Facility, 75 West Valpico Road, in Tracy, California (site). <br /> Also included in this report are results of an effectiveness evaluation of the air/ozone sparge <br /> system and results of the evaluation requested by the Regional Water Quality Control Board on <br /> May 3, 2005 regarding aquifer effects from using increased ozone concentrations in the air/ozone <br /> sparge system. <br /> The inferred flow direction and hydraulic gradient for the first half 2005 are consistent with <br /> those in previous monitoring events. The chloroform concentrations reported in samples <br /> collected from site monitoring wells ranged from less than the laboratory reporting limit of <br /> 0.5 micrograms per liter (gg/L) to 33 pg/L. The analytical results for the first half 2005 are <br /> generally consistent with historic trends.
