0 0
Ms. Julie Raining -2 - 3 May 2005
1. Results of samples collected from a minimum of one upgradient, two downgradient, and
two monitoring wells within the ozone sparging area and analyzed for general minerals,
aluminum, antimony, arsenic, barium, beryllium, cadmium, calcium, chromium (III
and VI), cobalt, copper, iron, lead, magnesium, manganese, mercury, molybdenum,
nickel, potassium, selenium, silver, sodium, thallium, tungsten, vanadium, and zinc. The
laboratory needs to meet the analytical method practical quantitation limits listed in
SW-846. GPC needs to report metal results as dissolved concentrations. Results of these
analyses should be used to evaluate if naturally-occurring minerals will go into solution
as a result of the ozone injection and the resulting effects on the aquifer.
2. An estimate of the change in electrical conductivity measurements and mass of other
constituents/parameters,-including chlorides, sulfides, total dissolved solids, etc. which
will be released into the aquifer as a result of the ozone injection, and the rationale for the
estimate.
3. Estimates of changes in pH in groundwater and the radius of influence for the proposed
ozone injection.
4. An assessment of the site specific effectiveness of ozone sparging for eliminating
chloroform pollution and any breakdown products of this process.
This sampling needs to occur during the next scheduled ozone system sampling event and
include with the next semi-annual monitoring report due by 1 August 2005.
