A site plan is Included as Figure 1. North of the site is the City's storm water <br /> basin(Basin)and an irrigation canal(Canal)owned and operated by the West Side Irrigation <br /> Vistrict(WSID), A residential neighborhood is located north and west of the Canal, A <br /> dissolved chloroform plume lies beneath the Basin and extends under the Canal and into the <br /> neighborhood. A Draft Interim Remediation Plan,dated February 4,2000, was submitted to <br /> the California Regional Water Quality Control Board for their review and approval. <br /> The objective of the Interim Remediation Plan (1")is to remediate chloroform-affected <br /> groundwater in the shallow router-bearing unit(30 to 65 feet below ground surface)in the <br /> vicinity of the Basin, The remedial goal for groundwater at this site has been stipulated by <br /> the California Regional Water Quality Control Board,Central Valley Region(RWQCB)to <br />
