Ms. Julie Raining -2- 4 October 1996
Because the cleanup goal for chloroform has not been achieved, we request that GP re-evaluate
ground water contamination and remediation at the Tracy site. GP should evaluate the
effectiveness of the current remediation system to remediate ground water in the source area and
to contain the full extent of the plume. The evaluation should use the cleanup goal of 5 lzg/1 for
chloroform. Additional monitoring and/or recovery wells may be needed to achieve
definition/capture of the full extent of the chloroform plume.
By 15 November 1996, please submit a report evaluating the ground water contamination and
the remediation system at the GP Tracy site. The report should include recommendations for
future activities. If you have any questions, you may call me at(916) 255-3048.
POLLY LOWRY
Associate Engineering Geologist 1
PAL:paUlsb
cc: San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Stockton
Mr. Todd Miller, Brown and Caldwell, Walnut Creek
