The attendees are listed on the enclosed
roster. The items agreed upon at that meeting were as follows:
1. By 6 January 1986, GP will submit a draft plan describing future efforts to
define the lateral , vertical , and downgradient extent of the pollutant
plume. Board staff agreed to accept a phased approach. GP proposed,
tentatively, to drill at least two wells to aid in the definition of the
lateral extent. Based upon the information gathered from these wells, one
or more deeper well (s) will be drilled to aid in the definition of the
vertical extent, one or more well (s) will be drilled further to the north
to aid in the definition of the downgradient extent, and if further lateral
definition is needed, more lateral wells will be drilled.
GP also committed to provide Board staff with a copy of the City of Tracy's
prohibition on using the uppermost aquifer for any purpose.
2. By 18 January 1986, GP will submit:
A. A final plan to define the entire plume, incorporating our comments.
This plan should fulfill the requirements of Item 1 of our 4 December
1985 letter.
B. A conceptual plan for the capture or control of the entire contaminant
plume. This proposal should include several alternatives, with cost
estimates, and rationale as to the environmental and economic desire-
ability of each. This plan should fulfill the requirements of Item 2
of our 4 December 1985 letter.
C. In response to John Noonan's concern that the source was not complete-
ly being controlled, an analysis of the actual zone of capture of the
recovery well .
