As for the future agenda,
Monday - Wednesday (6/4 - 6/6) , V&W will not be at the Musco site, giving us all a few
days to plan and think things over. Drilling is tentatively to resume on Thursday, June
7th.
Kelly Hegman
Musco Family Olive Co.
17950 Via Nicolo
Tracy, California 95376
(209) 640-2964 (cell)
(209) 836-4678 ext 371
(209) 836-0853 (fax)
kellyh@olives.com
From: Les Chau [mailto:LesChau@KennedyJenks.com]
Sent: Wednesday, May 30, 2007 5 :46 PM
To: Todd Del Frate; Meredith Durant
Cc: Ben Hall; Mike McLeod; Kelly Hegman; minfurna@sjcehd.com
Subject: Summary for this morning conference call
The following items were discussed in this order and decisions made.
1. The exploratory boring "intended hedge well" bottomed at a depth
of 225 ' bgs has no detectable water. The decision was made to pressure grout the hole in
lieu of completing a well at this location. This will be competed today.
2. Thursday - Musco and KJ will further discuss possible locations
for the actual Wells A/B of designated background monitoring.
Currently, we do not believe that the location marked offsite - across the fence - is
adequate because of the high possibility that there will be no detectable shallow GW. We
note that it is the shallow GW that is foremost in establishing GW quality for the site as
in background ambient concentrations.
We may have to separate the pairing of these two wells with the shallow (Well A)
relocated further up hill about a 1, 000 ' due west and south of MW-6R. The deep (B) well
may be proposed further east or northeast to help encounter deep GW. These locations will
be discussed with Todd Del Frate prior to Friday' s meeting.
3 . Today (Wed) - Boring Well C was advanced to 95 ' bgs (405' MSL)
last evening, no GW was encountered. The nearby well MW-1 has GW levels steady at 399'
MSL. Decision was made this morning to advance the boring to another 50 feet bgs to
attempt to encounter what was anticipated to be shallow groundwater. If GW is encountered
at reasonable depths (shallow or deep) , a well will be constructed. This drilling is
expected to be complete by Thursday.
4 . Thursday - Upon completion or termination of exploratory well C,
the drill crew will mobilize to Well E. It is again expected to encounter shallow
groundwater. This will end the week of drilling
S . Friday - RWQCB Meeting. A location for an upgradient well - 200
feet due south from MW6R will be proposed (see Letter to Board dated .
It is not determined whether this location is more viable for shallow GW background
monitoring (see Item 2) . It does however stand a better chance of encountering shallow GW
because of its location being further up hill than the currently marked location for Well
A.
6 . Friday - an additional deep GW monitoring well will be proposed
near MW-15 to further investigate very deep GW, its origin, and extent.
Please send comments and correction anytime.
Les Chau
Principal Hydrogeologist
2
