Musco Family Olive CompaTiy - • 13 September 2016
Class II Site Inspection Report
2015 Annual Monitoring Report for Class II Surface Impoundments
Staff has included a review of the 2015 Annual Monitoring Report for the Class II Surface
Impoundments with this letter. Review of the Annual 2015 groundwater monitoring report
indicates no significant changes to water quality have occurred beneath the Title 27 ponds
compared to historical data. Musco collected samples from groundwater wells associated with
the Detection Monitoring Program. Data from the collection of samples is inconclusive with
respect to degradation of water quality from the Title 27 ponds. One likely reason for this is that
multiple waste sources at the Musco facility could be contributing to elevated levels of
constituents of concern historically detected in groundwater.
The Monitoring Report Review Checklist is attached. To address deficiencies of the Detection
Monitoring Program, staff requested Musco in a letter dated 29 August 2016, to submit a work
plan to deepen wells MW-12, -17, and -22 by 30 September 2016.
Please call me at 916-464-4737 or email me at tdelfrate(a-)waterboards.ca.gov if you have
questions.
TODD A.
