The conditional
approval is based on the revision of the workplan to meet the RWQCB requirements. This letter
has been prepared to address those requirements set forth by the RWQCB. The requirements are
outlined below, followed by a bulleted response.
"Section 4.1, Soil Analysis, states, "A minimum of two (2) sail samples from both
deep borings in the pond areas will be analyzed." The Order requires a minimum
of two soil samples from each deep boring. Please clarify the number of samples
prior to implementing the investigation."
• Kleinfelder's workplan stated in Section 4.1 "A minimum of two (2) soil samples from both
deep borings in the pond areas will be analyzed", To clarify the sampling protocol to be
followed for the deep borings, Kleinfelder's workplan Section 4.1 should read "A minimum
of two(2) soil samples from each deep boring in the pond areas will be analyzed".
"It is noted that the deep borings will be drilled with 10-inch hollow stem augers.
That is acceptable, however, easier drilling would be experienced using 8-inch
diameter hollow stem augers."
20.2594-03.WP2/201 IL056 Page 1 of 2
Copyright 2001,IQeinfelder,Inc.
