' • . k%] KLEINFELDER
' 2 SITE SETTING
' 2.1 SITE LOCATION
t The site is located at 17950 Via Nicole, west of Tracy in San Joaquin County, California (Plate
1). The site is located to the southwest of Interstate 580, and is accessible from the Patterson
Pass Road exit. The Musco Olive Products facility is located in portions of Section 4, Township
3 South, Range 4 East, and Section 34, Township 2 South, Range 4 East, Mt. Diablo Baseline
and Meridian.
' According to the Midway, California USGS topographic quadrangle (photo revised in 1980),
' both Southern Pacific Railroad (SPRR) and Western Pacific Railroad (WPRR) tracks cross the
site. An artesian well is located to the northwest of the site between the SPRR tracks and
' Interstate 580.
2.2 CURRENT USE AND SITE CHARACTERISTICS
' The site is occupied by the olive processing and packaging plant located in the northern portion
' of the property (Section 34) adjacent to the SPRR and Interstate 580. An existing one million
gallon storage pond is located southwest of the plant along the western boundary of Section 34.
' Two evaporation ponds are located to the northeast of the plant near Interstate 580. The
proposed new 72 million-gallon storage pond(s) will be located to the southeast of the plant near
t the southern boundary of Section 34. The land application area is located to the southwest of the
plant and existing pond area in Section 4.
' The one million-gallon storage pond, proposed 72 million-gallon storage pond location, and land
application area are accessible by unpaved roads. The topography of the plant area is somewhat
' flat, transitioning to rolling hills south of the plant near the one million-gallon pond and land
application area. The topography in the portion of the land application area south of the WPRR
' is relatively steep.
' 20-2594-03.004/2011 R447 Page 3 of 16
' Copyright 2001 Kleinfelder, Inc.
