(Kennedy/Jenks)has prepared this Work Plan- Offsite
Groundwater Characterization (Work Plan)on behalf of Musco Family Olive Company(Musco).
Kennedy/Jenks is submitting this Work Plan to notify the Regional Water Quality Control Board,
Central Valley Region (RWQCB)of the approach and initial steps to characterize shallow
groundwater(above the Corcoran Clay layer)beneath prospective offsite locations for
application of reclaimed process wastewater for agricultural purposes.
Background
Musco is evaluating the feasibility of supplying treated process wastewater for irrigation of the
Jepsen Webb Ranch LLC property,APN 209-240-26 and 209-240-27, located in the southern
portion of Section 36,T2N/R4E Mount Diablo Base and Meridian (MDB&M). Musco intends to
investigate the quality of the underlying groundwater in this area and use the results of this
investigation to identify appropriate limitations for the quality of the reclaimed water. Musco
intends to submit a Report of Waste Discharge (ROWD) to obtain reclamation requirements for
use of the reclaimed water for crop irrigation on this property or other nearby properties. The
objective of the investigation outlined in this Work Plan is to generate an exploratory-level
characterization of groundwater in the potential reclamation areas. The findings of this
investigation, i.e. the hydrogeologic understanding and groundwater quality data, will be used as
baseline data to assist in establishing reclamation requirements,
Proposed Sampling Methodology
Kennedy/Jenks intends to assess the groundwater in the potential irrigation areas using a
combination of cone penetrometer testing (CPT)and HydropunchTM or equivalent groundwater
sampling. The CPT and groundwater sampling is conducted in two separate steps at each
p.G:awwm'n`ryEam2ut0/.mneeaep+ewsww^ rM_o navh.ln.bx ..
_ .— 'd-60H ON SJNtl110SN00 SN3f/A03NN3WtlSI Ol_b041 '6l 'BtlW.
