Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 SEP 2 7 '^" <br /> RE: ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH Laura Scudders/Navarra Ranch Property PERMIT/SERVICES W. valpico Road, Tracy, California <br /> Site Code 14231 <br /> Dear Ms. Cotulla, <br /> This letter is in response to your letter to George Jeppsson at <br /> Laura Scudders dated September 11, 1990 regarding concern about the <br /> soluble lead analyses for the Tank 1 area at the above referenced <br /> site. <br /> While I understand that there has been significant discussion <br /> between WESTON and San Joaquin County staff on this issue in the <br /> past, perhaps it is best to review the lead analysis project again. <br /> We strongly feel that we are all probably spending considerable <br /> time on a non-issue. While it is true that the soluble lead <br /> analysis was not conducted by EPA Method 7421, it was performed by <br /> a procedure (Method 6010) which meets the required detection <br /> limits. <br /> Also, because the information on the Laura Scudders/Navarra Ranch <br /> site has been developed over a considerable period of time and <br /> presented in numerous reports, we feel it is possible that the <br /> pertinent information on the tank T-1 area has not been clearly <br /> presented. <br /> The following information is a summary of data taken from the <br /> WESTON project report to Laura Scudders entitled "Soil Remediation <br /> Proposal" dated January 31, 1990: <br /> The T-1 Tank (1000 gallons) was removed in May 1989 and <br /> analysis of initial tank bottom samples indicated a total lead <br />
