Weston and have the following comments.
SITE CODE 142323
Residual contamination remains under the area of; the removed pipeline and the
Tank 2 Area. The installation of a downgradient monitoring well and the
subsequent sampling activities have failed to detect persistent contaminants.
Therefore, we are recommending closure of the Tank 2 Area (Site Code #142323) and
have requested concurrent agreement from Central Valley Regional Water Quality
Control Board.
Official certification will be forthcoming- uponour receipt of the CVRWQCB's
opinion.
SITE CODE 14231
A concern remains with respect to the lead levels associated with the Tank 1
Area. It appears that the soluble portion of the leachate sample extraction
performed by Roy F. Weston on January 29, 1990 was not analyzed using method EPA
7421 (Title 22, CCR) .
This analysis must be performed and a review of the laboratory results made prior
to any recommendations for closure of the Tank. I Area. " Therefore, we would
suggest that resampling of the Tank 1 Area proced.
If you have any questions, contact Greg Lyon at -(209) 468--3450.
Jogi Khanna, M.D. , M.P.H.
Health Off' r
a ie A.
