tank removal, this tank was integrity tested. The tank passed the integrity test. The reason the tank was removed was that Laura Scudders had ceased operation of the facility and the property was to be sold. In an effort to reduce their environmental liability associated with the property, Laura Scudders, Inc. removed the tank. Upon removal, the tank was inspected and no signs of lack of integrity were noted. Based on this information, it is highly unlikely that the contents of this tank were ever released into the environment via a tank leak. It is not possible to estimate the quantity of a discharge since all information indicates there was no product discharge. 9.0 Depth to Groundwater Because the site has no wells from which site specific depth to groundwater information could be obtained, three information sources were utilized in determining the depth to groundwater at the Laura Scudders Tracy Plant. The first information source was the California Regional Water Quality Control Board's (CRWQCB) information from a site investigation of the former Georgia pacific site located at 75 W. Valpico Road which is situated less than 1/2 mile north of the Laura Scudders Plant. Through discussions with Mr. David Brent of the CRWQCB, WESTON was advised that the depth to groundwater at the Georgia Pacific site ranges from 58' beneath the ground surface (BGS) . to 65' The second information source utilized was monitoring well installation logs contained in public CRWQCB for the Triple "B" Produce sitein Tracy, Californi. Thhs site is located less than one mile southeast of the Laura Scudders Plant. These well logs, presented in Appendix at the depth to groundwater at the Triple "E" ite is between 58'and 62, beneath the ground surface. The final informational source utilized in determining the depth to groundwater was the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District - Lines of Equal Elevation of Water in Wells for both Fall 1988 and Spring 1989. From this source, it was found that the depth to groundwater in the area of the Laura Scudders Tracy Plant ranges from 621 beneath the ground surface in the Fall 1988 to 601 beneath the ground surface in the spring of 1989. From these three informational sources, reasonable assurance it can be assumed with that the depth to groundwater beneath the Laura Scudders Tracy Plant ranges from 58' to 62' BGS. - 4.0 Site Geology anjdTopography-- --- ------------ Limited -----Limited information is available regarding site specific lithology. However, information in the form of well installation logs is _ available from the records of the Triple "E" Produce site southeast of the Laura Scudder's facility. These logs, as presented in Appendix A, indicate the presence of sands and gravels which would be indicative of high permeability soils. r 3 .
