The Spectrum crew was already on-site, he ri
on January
was set up for the boring of borehole T1 over the middledrill
of the
i , tank T-2 area. The Spectrum crew was using a 6" hollow stem auger
bit to install the borehole. According to the Spectrum crew, the
auger flights had been steam cleaned prior to loading onto the
truck. The borehole was located as shown on the enclosed figure.
Upon reaching the depth of 20'
samples were collected. ' soil sample as well lithologic
California modified split Poon mplles were collected utilizing a
brass tubes. The remaining tubedr sails nwere
utilized for lithologic interpretations.
Each sample tube upon retrieval was sealed with either teflon
lining or aluminum foil lining prior to placement of the plastic
end caps. The plastic end caps were then secured with plastic
electrical tape and labeled. The two tubes containing the soils
were then placed into plastic ziplvck bags and kept on ice for
shipment to the laboratory.
This procedure was repeated ever
encountered. Upon encountering the groundwater, the boreholerowas
extended an additional 5r. A clear teflon bailer was then lowered
into the annulus of the auger flights and a standing water sample
was collected. This standing water sample was examined for signs
the Of floating product. None were observed.
