Per Mashin, he is thinking about selling the brake lathe <br /> since he now rarely resurfaces rotors. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste <br /> as specified in Title 22 California Code of Regulations(CCR). There are wastes that are listed as hazardous <br /> wastes. There are wastes that exhibit one or more of the hazardous waste characteristics:toxic, corrosive, reactive <br /> or ignitable. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately make a hazardous waste determination for the metal fines, and manage it <br /> according to Title 22 CCR. Use Safety Data Sheets(SDS),waste sampling and test results or other knowledge to <br /> support your hazardous waste determination. Waste testing must be done using methods specified in Title 22 <br /> CCR including sections 66261.20-24. Metal fine particles 100 microns or smaller must be handled as hazardous <br /> waste if the metal is determined to be a hazardous waste. <br /> Submit a statement and supporting documentation with your hazardous waste determination. Demonstrate current <br /> storage and labeling for wastes determined to be hazardous wastes. Provide disposal records for wastes <br /> determined to be hazardous wastes and stored longer than the number of days specified in Title 22 CCR for your <br /> hazardous waste generator status. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 105 CCR 66262.34(d)(2)No emergency coordinator. <br /> OBSERVATION: The facility is using a completed old California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) <br /> Consolidated Emergency Response/Contingency Plan template(template revised on 6/27/2011). This <br /> contingency plan did not list an assigned emergency coordinator. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: The emergency coordinator or his designee must respond to any emergencies that <br /> arise. The business operator must post the following information next to telephones or in areas directly involved in <br /> the generation and accumulation of hazardous waste: the name and emergency telephone number of the <br /> emergency coordinator, the location of fire extinguishers and spill control material, and the telephone number of <br /> the fire department unless the facility has a direct alarm. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately post the required information at the facility.
