The business operator must post the following information next to telephones or in areas directly involved in <br /> the generation and accumulation of hazardous waste: the name and emergency telephone number of the <br /> emergency coordinator, the location of fire extinguishers and spill control material, and the telephone number of <br /> the fire department unless the facility has a direct alarm. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately post the required information at the facility. Provide a statement to the San <br /> Joaquin County Environmental Health Department that the correction is complete. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 106 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to train employees on waste handling and emergency procedures. <br /> OBSERVATION: At the time of inspection, it could not be demonstrated (not necessarily documented)that <br /> employees who handle hazardous waste were properly trained, based on the following observations/violations: <br /> 1. Three 32 fl. oz. bottles of Clorox Mildew Root Penetrator&Remover containing sodium hypochlorite and bleach <br /> were observed inside the hazardous waste bin for Toxic&State Regulated Waste (ST). However, according to the <br /> Stericycle guidance poster posted in the hazardous waste storage area, materials containing sodium hypochlorite <br /> and/or bleach are classified as Oxidizers (OX). <br /> 2. See violation 605. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: The business owner must ensure that all employees are thoroughly familiar with <br /> proper waste handling and emergency procedures, relevant to their responsibilities during normal facility operations <br /> and emergencies. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately train or re-train the employees.
