Page 12
A visual inspection is also preformed daily in the boiler room. This visual inspection includes
two emergency diesel pumps, any visible valves, pipes, fittings, and their respective supports
and foundations.
In the generator room there is a "Daily Bulk Diesel Aboveground Tank Inspection Checklist"
that must be filled out during this inspection procedure. The logs are kept on record inside a
binder in the Plan Operations and Maintenance office.
Area B:
This area is visually inspected daily. The fuel tank leak detector alarm for the UST (exempt)
that includes both vapor and liquid testing, is tested daily. The 275-gallon day tank's visual
inspection includes visible valves, pipes, fittings and supports.
The log for this inspection can be found inside the boiler room by the entrance. At the end of
the month when the sheet is full, it is then saved for record keeping inside a binder in the Plan
Operations and Maintenance office.
Area C:
A visual inspection of this area is performed weekly. This visual inspection includes fuel levels,
lubrication oil levels, cooling system, exhaust, battery, and electrical. In addition, the unit
where the 250-gallon AST is located must be wiped down during the inspection. The
Emergency Power Supply System is also tested for any unusual vibrations, leakage, or noise,
all lights must be working properly, and controls must be accessible.
The Automatic Transfer Switch transfer test is conducted weekly to ensure it is working
properly.
The log for all tests, procedures and visual inspections is located inside a binder in the Plan
Operations and Maintenance office.
Spill incidents are to be reported by site employees and logged by the Director of Plant Operations &
Maintenance using the electronic incident reporting system. A brief report describing the occurrence,
remedial activities and possible modifications to current operations in order to prevent a similar
occurrence from happening again will be prepared. This log is available for inspection during normal
business hours.
3.0 Personnel Training
In accordance with§112.7(1)(3)
All plant Operations and Maintenance employees that have contact with this area are trained in
observation and spill prevention once each year as required by the hospital's spill plan. At minimum,
Section II of this SPCC Plan is covered in the training. They are requested to submit any
recommendations in prevention techniques or any other phase of the containment process.
Dameron Hospital
Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan
June 29,2020
