WILDWOOD
MANUFACTURING CORPORATION • Furnishings Beyond the Ordinory
P.O. BOX 1268 kJ q
LODI, CA 95241-1268
(209) 333-8058
JAN
January 7 , 1987 ENVIR(.fviti,,-IAL HEALTH
FERMIT/SERVICES
Mr . Ron L. Valinoti , Acting Director
Environmental Health Division
San Joaquin Local Health District
P. 0. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Mr . Valinoti :
Thank you for your letter of January 5 , and the enclosed copy
of the Hangsen letter . I believe we can satisfy all the concerns
expressed in these letters .
I enclose herewith a proposal which we solicited from Paramount
Pest Control . They propose to surround the site with traps , to
capture rodents as they migrate between sleeping quarters provided
by the grapevines , and surrounding eating establishments . I note
that their letter states that their service would control rats
and mice . We also explicitely discussed control of ground squirrels ,
and I was assured that the proposed traps would be equally effective
for that purpose . I believe the omission in the letter was an
oversight . We are prepared to engage Paramount .
We are also agreeable to a finite time limit on a stockpile of
vines , as proposed by Hansgen . Would 8 months maximum be acceptable?
Furthermore , we would be prepared to disk the entire surface
at least once each summer , as proposed by Dan Guerra , to assure
that ground squirrels do not set up permanent housing .
As I previously reported , we will not allow any garbage to remain
on the site , or containers which could retain water . We have
already arranged for the County to remove the abandoned vehicles ,
which we inherited .
These grapevines are an important resource for us , and we are
committed to their proper care and control . Please let me know
what else we need to do .
Rega d" i.
i
Norris S . Gg'ff
President I
