Field Sampling Report
For
California Cedar Products
Stockton, California
On March 28,.1989, ROY F. WESTON,.INC. (WEST014) collected two fly
ash samples= from the California Cedar Products facility in
Stockton, California. The fly ash is discharged from the facili-
ty's boiler wet scrubber.
The samples were collected utilizing a st;iinless steel hand
trowel. The- samples were collected from each of two fly ash
storage bins; at .the site. The first bin sampled was the small
collection bin beneath the scrubber discharge. The sample
collected for this bin was labeled Bin 1. The ash collected for
the sample was transferred directly from the hand trowel to a one
liter, wide mouth laboratory cleansed glass container. Once the
container was filled, the container was sealed with a teflon
lined screw cap. Upon collection, the sample was labeled accord-
ingly. The sample container label included sample ID #, date and
time of collection and analytical parameters requested.
The second fly. -ash sample was.. collected from t -he large (approxi-
mately 40 cuyds.) bin located along the south side of the facili-
ty. This sample, Bin 2, was collected and labeled in a manner
identical to,that as described for sample Bin 1.
Upon completion of the sample collection effort, the sample
container were placed on ice in a cooler for delivery to WESTON's
Stockton Analytical Laboratory for analysis. The analytical
parameters requested for these sample was as follows:
o Ignitability
o Corrosivity
o Reactivity
o EP Toxicity (Metals)
Upon arrival at the WESTON Analytical laboratory, the chain -of -
custody form (enclosed) was signed to verify receipt of the
samples by the laboratory..
