Secondary containment shall be designed to retain the spill from <br />the largest single container. <br />Overflow from a secondary containment system shall be provided to <br />direct liquid leakage and fire protection water to a safe <br />location away from the building, valves, egress, fire access <br />roadway, adjoining property or storm drains. <br />If the storage area is open to rainfall, the secondary <br />containment shall .be designed to accommodate the volume of a <br />24-hour rainfall as determined•by.a 25. -year storm. When curbs <br />are used, provisions shall be made for draining accumulations of <br />groundwater or rainwater. <br />Materials which react with water or other liquids to produce a. <br />hazard shall not be stored in the same area with flammable and <br />combustible liquids. <br />Storage area shall be graded in a manner to divert possible <br />spills away from buildings or other exposures or shall be <br />surrounded by a curb at least 6 inches high. When drains are <br />used, provisions shall be made for draining of accumulations of <br />ground water or rain water or spills of liquid. Drains shall <br />terminate at a safe location and shall be accessible to operation <br />under fire conditions. <br />
