Hazardous Waste Facility Permit <br /> Naval Communication Station Stockton <br /> 4 . A label shall be maintained on all containers in <br /> which hazardous wastes are stored. Labels shall <br /> include the following information: <br /> a. Composition and physical state of the waste; <br /> b. Special safety recommendations and <br /> precautions for handling the waste; <br /> C. Statement or statements which call attention <br /> to the particular hazardous properties of the <br /> waste; <br /> d. Name and address of the facility producing <br /> the waste; and <br /> e. Date accumulation begins or date of <br /> acceptance at the storage facility. <br /> 5. Empty containers contaminated with hazardous waste <br /> and hazardous materials shall be stored, handled, <br /> and processed as hazardous. waste or recycled, <br /> whenever possible. <br /> 6. The total number of containers storing hazardous <br /> waste in the storage area shall not exceed the <br /> designed capacity of the storage area at any one <br /> time. <br /> 7. Containers used for storing hazardous waste shall <br /> be in a condition such that the containers can be <br /> safely transported, handled, or moved. <br /> 8. If a container holding hazardous waste is not in <br /> good condition, or if it begins to leak, the owner <br /> or operator shall immediately (within 24 hours of <br /> discovery) transfer the hazardous waste from this <br /> container to a container that is in good <br /> condition, or manage the waste in some other way <br /> that complies with the conditions of this permit. <br /> 9. Compatibility of Waste with Containers <br /> The owner or operator shall use a container made <br /> of or lined with materials which will not react <br /> -12- <br />
