Once you have had an opportunity to review if you could please give <br /> me a call and let me know if this is acceptable or if you would prefer this come in the form of a memo. <br /> The Special Waste Approvals Group utilizes a robust review process to prevent the acceptance of hazardous waste. As <br /> part of this process, waste generators are required to complete a Special Waste Profile and,when applicable, provide <br /> supporting documentation in the form of analysis or safety data sheets to further characterize their waste. This <br /> information, provided by the generator as a true and accurate representation of their non-hazardous waste, is reviewed <br /> by one of the six personnel that make up the special waste approvals group. Each person in the group has at least a <br /> bachelor's degree in chemistry or environmental science and prior laboratory and/or waste characterization <br /> experience. Everyone in the group has attended McCoy's RCRA training. In addition to McCoy's they receive on the job <br /> training specific to the state regulations that are more stringent than the federal regulations. Once a profile has been <br /> submitted for review,the analyst compares the generator's characterization information against the federal limits listed <br /> in 40 CFR Parts 261.20 through 40 CFR 261.33 as well as 22 CCR Parts 66261.20 through 22 CCR 66261.33 in order to <br /> confirm the waste is non-hazardous and acceptable for disposal. <br /> Sign-in sheets do not exist for the training that has taken place. However, I can certify that Keith Diamanti, Suzanne <br /> Glass, Holly Wilson and Joseph Sorokach have all received training with respect to waste characterization under the <br /> California Code of Regulations. Lynette Gehring has attended McCoy's but is relatively new to the team. Lynette is not <br /> currently reviewing profiles for California as she has not yet received additional training(beyond the requirements for <br /> pH) regarding waste acceptance in California. <br /> The special waste approvals group takes this responsibility very seriously and does not knowingly accept hazardous <br /> waste.
