Stockton Steel <br /> Process for Used Aerosol Can Storage and Disposal <br /> • Used aerosol cans will be initially collected in the 35 gallon blue containers labeled <br /> "Used Aerosol Cans" located at the Main Shop tool room and Rigging Loft. <br /> • When the 35 gallon blue containers labeled "Used Aerosol Cans"are full they will be <br /> transported to the West Shop. <br /> • The aerosol cans will be punctured and the hazardous waste contents will be drained into <br /> a hazardous waste drum labeled "Hazardous Paint Waste". <br /> • The drained empty aerosol cans will be placed in a 50 gallon yellow container labeled <br /> "Drained Aerosol Cans Only". <br /> • When the 50 gallon yellow container labeled "Drained Aerosol Cans Only" is full the drained <br /> cans will be transferred to a scrap metals bin and be recycled by the scrap vendor off site. <br /> WARNING! Only TRAINED and AUTHORIZED Personnel may operate <br /> The Aerosolv Aerosol Can Disposal system <br /> Always foll rrs operating procedures <br /> SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: <br /> 1. Wear safety goggles or face shield while operating Aerosolv. <br /> 2. DO NOT use Aerosolv while smoking or near open flame. <br /> 3. Install Anti-Static Wire to properly "grounded" drum. <br /> 4. Install Combination Filter prior to using Aerosolv, Replace <br /> Carbon Cartridge as indicated. <br /> 5. DO NOT use Aerosolv on a drum with less than 30 gal capacity. <br /> 6. Remove Aerosolv to an empty drum once collection drum is <br /> 70% full (when contents reach within 10" of the top). <br /> 7. Always engage sliding top plate against can being punctured. <br /> 8. DO NOT use Aerosolv for puncturing "foaming" aerosol <br /> products propelled by propane. <br /> 9. ALWAYS OPERATE AEROSOLV SYSTEM OUTDOORS OR I <br /> A WELL VENTILATED AREA. <br />
