If this is
something your dept does not want us to do please let me know and I will stop them from being picked up.
Thanks for the heads up on the labels for"drained used oil filters" and "universal waste". I will let our staff know to
those stickers instead of the Hazardous waste stickers.
Derric
From: Garrett Backus [EH] [mailto:gbackus@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Tuesday, March 09, 2010 3:40 PM
To: Juano, Derric
Cc: Brown, Elmer
Subject: Hazardous Waste inspection done 12-17-09
Hi Derric,
Have you received lab results for the metal dust? Are the nine 55-gallon drums of metal dust still being stored
onsite?
Also, the oil filters can be labeled "drained used oil filters"with an accumulation start date instead of as hazardous
waste. Filters (a maximum of one ton)can be stored onsite for up to one year before sending offsite for
recycling.
The drum of batteries can be labelled "universal waste-batteries" instead of as hazardous waste. Universal
waste can be stored onsite for up to one year before sending offsite for recycling.
3/19/2010
