8 <br /> FLAMMLABLE/TOXIC VAPOR RELEASE RESPONSE CONTINGENCY PLAN <br /> In the event of an accidental release of a toxic/ flammable vapor initiate the following <br /> actions. <br /> 1. Notify personnel in the immediate vicinity. <br /> 2. Isolate the area and deny entry. <br /> 3. . Notify the TMC Dispatch. <br /> Supervisor's Action: <br /> 1. Notify the TMC. The TMC will call for outside assistance, if required. The TMC will also <br /> notify the Hazardous Material Manager and District Office. <br /> 2. From a safe distance, try to determine the extent of the problem. Try and evaluate the scene <br /> for possible fire hazards. <br /> 3. Try to stop the release if it can be done safely. Remember that your training, capabilities and <br /> the required personal protective equipment available for your use will limit your actions. <br /> 4. If you believe the spill or release will endanger the surrounding community notify TMC. <br /> TMC will notify the appropriate emergency response agencies. <br /> 5. If personnel have been exposed and require medical treatment, ensure that the personnel are <br /> decontaminated prior to transporting to the hospital. This is necessary to prevent secondary <br /> exposure to medical personnel and prevent contamination of the hospital emergency room. <br /> 6. Stay in the vicinity to brief emergency response agencies, upon their arrival on scene. <br /> 7. Provide a summary of actions to the Regional Manager and District 10 Hazardous Material <br /> Manager immediately upon completion of the clean up actions. <br /> 14 <br />
