In the event of an accidental release of a toxic/ flammable vapor initiate the following <br />actions: <br />1. Notify personnel in the immediate vicinity. <br />2. Isolate the area and deny entry. <br />3.. Notify the TMC Dispatch. <br />Supervisor's Action: <br />1. Notify the, TMC. The TMC will call for outside assistance, if required. The TMC will also <br />notify the Hazardous Material Manager and District Office. <br />2. From a safe distance, try to determine the extent of the problem. Try and evaluate the scene <br />for possible fire hazards. <br />3. Try to stop the release if it can be done safely. Remember that your training, capabilities and <br />the required personal protective equipment available for your use will limit your actions. <br />4. If you believe the spill or release will endanger the surrounding community notify TMC. <br />TMC will notify the appropriate emergency response agencies. <br />5. If personnel have been exposed and require medical treatment, ensure that the personnel are <br />decontaminated prior to transporting to the hospital. This is necessary to prevent secondary <br />exposure to medical personnel acid prevent contamination of the hospital emergency room. <br />6. Stay in the vicinity to brief emergency response agencies, upon their arrival on scene. <br />7. Provide a summary of actions to the Regional Manager and District 10 Hazardous Material <br />Manager immediately upon completion of the clean up actions. <br />14 <br />
