ibis course trains first responders at the operations <br />level to respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous <br />substances as part of an initial response. Course participants <br />will learn how to protect nearby persons, property, or the <br />environment from the effects of a hazmat release by responding <br />in a defensive fashion without actually trying to stop the release. <br />This course will train personnel to contain the release from a <br />safe distance, keep it from spreading, and prevent exposures. <br />This course combines lecture, group activities, exercises <br />and a written exam. <br />This program meets OSHA requirements and NFP'A <br />recommendations for training at the First Responder Operations <br />level. <br />2day/ 16 hr course <br />Instructor: Vance Bennett <br />Course Registrar: (805) 549-3344 or CsTlhm@calema.r-a.gov <br />Course Availability: Offered by Agency Contract <br />63 <br />
