(continued) <br />(3) data gathered from monitoring equipment and leak -detection equipment (e.g., pressure and <br />temperature gauges, monitoring wells) to ensure that the tank system is being operated according to its <br />design <br />(4) the construction materials and the area immediately surrounding the externally accessible portion <br />of the tank system including secondary containment structures (e.g., dikes), to detect erosion or signs of <br />releases of hazardous waste (e.g., wet spots, dead vegetation) <br />Immediately begin conducting the necessary daily inspections for all hazardous waste tanks at this <br />facility. Submit a copy of the inspection logs to the EHD by August 19, 2012. <br />133. A tank assessment was not available on site for the used antifreeze tank. A hazardous waste <br />generator shall obtain and keep on site a written assessment for each hazardous waste tank at the <br />facility. This assessment shall be reviewed and certified by an independent, qualified, professional <br />engineer, registered in California, and shall attest to the tank system's integrity. The assessment shall <br />determine that the tank system is adequately designed and has sufficient structural strength and <br />compatibility with the waste stored, and shall be written in accordance with Title 22 regulations. <br />Immediately obtain written tank assessments for the hazardous waste tanks at this facility in accordance <br />with Title 22 regulations, maintain a copy on site at the facility, and submit a copy of each certified <br />assessment to the EHD. <br />610. A 55 gallon black steel drum of used oil filters was observed without an accumulation start date. <br />Used oil filters must be stored in a closed, rainproof container, labeled as "drained used oil filters," and <br />marked with an accumulation start date. Immediately label this container and ensure that all used oil <br />filters are managed in this way. <br />Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification to the EHD by August 19, 2012 <br />along with a statement documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each <br />violation and any supporting paperwork. <br />"Facility generated 24.62 tons of hazardous waste in 2011. The facility will be moved to a lower permit <br />category (5-25 tons/year).
