Highway Equipment,5uperintendent H (HES II)
<br />Under the general direction of the Supervising Highway Equipment Superintendent, assumes
<br />responsibility for all Shop, Office and Parts activities of a grade 11 shop. Acts as a Field Agent
<br />for the Division of Equipment; responsible for acquisition, repair, improvement and disposal of
<br />all fleet equipment used by the District; supports the Division's Safety program; oversees the
<br />Shop parts activity for proper procurement practices, uses and storage.
<br />Highway Afechanic,�upervisor,5hqplField (HMS)
<br />Takes direction from a Highway Equipment Superintendent 1,11 or 111; Supervises a force of
<br />mechanics, helpers and apprentices engaged in constructing, servicing and repairing automotive,
<br />construction and highway maintenance equipment. Keeps records, establishes training
<br />programs, implements departmental policies, and prepares tool and equipment budgets, makes
<br />estimates for equipment repair, improvements and disposal; maintains a safe work place.
<br />Heavy Equipment Afechanic Lead worker ShoplField (HEMS)
<br />Under the direction of a CT Highway Mechanic Supervisor acting in a lead capacity to a group
<br />of CT HEM's, Automobile Mechanics, Helpers and Apprentices, makes accident damage
<br />estimates and job orders on incoming jobs, assigns jobs, checks work, gives instructions, aids
<br />with difficult mechanical problems, and performs hands-on work in the construction, inspection,
<br />diagnosis, 17,
<br />gnosis, repairing and servicing of State vehicles and Highway equipment.
<br />Hemy Equipment AlechanicShopIField (HEM)
<br />Under the supervision of a HMS and/or direction of a HEML the incumbent will be working in a
<br />shoplfield environment. Duties consist of inspection and diagnosing repairs that have to be made
<br />to State vehicles and High Nay equipment. Completes various repair records and reports, and
<br />then enters such data in the computer system. Incumbents will assume responsibility for
<br />reasonable safeguards, proper use and handling of materials, equipment and facilities.
<br />Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice (11EM4)
<br />Under close supervision from a HMS as an indentured apprentice, employee learns and performs
<br />progressively skilled work in the repair and maintenance of heavy Highway equipment and
<br />vehicle equipment.
<br />Equipment Materiel Manager 1I (EMM If)
<br />Under the, direction of a HES 11,111 or Equipment Materiel Manager III supervises a staff
<br />engaged in Equipment Materiel Operations work-, concerning purchasing, inventory,
<br />disbursement, shipping and receiving of equipment parts, materiel, related equipment and
<br />services for the fabrication, maintenance, repair and disposal of mobile equipment.
<br />Senior Equipment Materiel 5pecialist (SEM.5)
<br />Designated as a working lead person the SEMS oversees and directs the parts dept staff engaged
<br />C�
<br />in Equipment Materiel Operations work concerning the purchasing, inventory, disbursement,
<br />shipping and receiving, repair and disposal of mobile equipment.
