SPILL CONTINGENCY PLAN <br /> Purpose <br /> McCormick and Baxter has provided containment or collection/ <br /> pump system for each tank or chemical handling area. The <br /> importance of . spill contingency planning is recognized and <br /> the plan presented here is to further McCormick and Baxter's <br /> spill prevention control and countermeasure capabilities. <br /> Plan of Action <br /> Any employee detecting a spill reports to the immediate super- <br /> visor who in turn contacts the Emergency Coordinator or his <br /> designee if the Emergency Coordinator is on-call. The emergency <br /> response crew is then dispatched to the spill site. <br /> If a spill escapes the usual containment measures and reaches <br /> water resources or if the spill is greater than the plant <br /> facilities can handle, the following agencies may be contacted <br /> for assistance: <br /> U.S. EPA (415) 974-8131 <br /> U.S. Coast Guard (415) 437-3073 <br /> California Department of <br /> Health Services HWMB (916) 739-3145 <br /> California Office of <br /> Emergency Services (800) 852-7550 <br /> San Joaquin County of <br /> Emergency Services (109) 944=2181 <br /> Cleanup procedures for each waste and chemical container onsite <br /> are described in the Spill Control and Countermeasures Plan. <br /> Communications and Cleanup Equipment <br /> Spill control, cleanup equipment, and communications devices <br /> are listed in Section VII of the Operation Plan. <br /> Cleanup Procedures <br /> Upon discovery of a spill of any' amount, . the following actions <br /> will be taken: <br /> o Notify the Emergency Coordinator immediately giving <br /> the following informations. <br /> - Time of the spill <br /> -� Location.of the spill including type of ter- <br /> rain and nearest waters of drains <br /> X-10 <br />
