0, M A. TEICHERT & SON, INC..
r
IL
From: George Takemori
Mailing: P.O. Box 15002 Sacramento, CA 95851 916-386-3716
Shipping: 8833 Kiefer Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95826 916-386-1256 Fax
Transmittal
To: Ray von Flue
Company: San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
CC:
Pages:
Phone: 209-468-9848
Fax: 209-468-3433
Email:
Date: 5-28-02
Re: Return To Compliance
Deficiencies:
1. Used absorbent & paint in green garbage dumpsters in yard.
a. We removed the 5 gallon paint can from trash during the inspection on
5-8-02.
b. We cleaned up parking lot where green garbage dumpsters had leaked
oil and absorbent.
C. We steam cleaned out the green garbage dumpsters in our washrack
to remove all traces of oil. Unfortunately, the photo showing the cleaned
inside came out as a big black shadow. So I went back to take photos
but they were full of stuff, non -oil of course !
d. We are not disposing of oily absorbent rolls in the shop garbage cans.
e. We are collecting oily absorbent rolls and hand towels in 55 gallon drums
for disposal/incineration. I have also hired a consultant to analyze some
badly soaked absorbents to determine whether they are truly hazardous
material. It will take me some time to complete this analysis.
2. Unlabeled & open bucket under hydraulic cylinder bench.
a. We've removed the bucket and installed a cam fitting with a cap to drain
the oil into our waste oil caddy.
3. Fill out "Hazardous Waste Emergency Information" form.
a. We've filled out the form, laminated them and installed them by phones.
See enclosed copy.
4. Universal waste found in garbage cans.
a. We purchased a 5 gallon hazmat drum to store dry cell batteries in.
® b. We've instructed employees they can not discard aerosol cans in the
trash unless they are totally empty.
